Foraging

Seasonal fruit and vegetables are available to pick in The Brow’s edible forest, orchard and kitchen garden.  Fruit includes figs, plums, apples, pears, black berries, red, white and black currants, jostaberries, raspberries etc.  For the more adventurous, there are quince and medlar (the latter delicious when stewed with game).  Tomatoes are grown in the greenhouse and available to pick, as well as potatoes, leeks, beetroot and other vegetables.

Plentiful seasonal wild garlic is available by the river to pick.  Add this to a dish to enhance the flavour, or mix with nuts, parmesan and olive oil to create a delicious base for pesto.
